Welcome to Progression Obsession

Progression Obsession began back in 2012 after I left eating disorder treatment for the first time. Since then, in total, I have been in treatment for both eating and alcohol addiction six times and arrested five times. In a world that shames, stigmatizes, and criminalizes addiction, I am here to audaciously and relentlessly bring nuance, compassion, and hope to the conversation. Addiction affects everyone. Let’s stop hiding away in church basements, get real, and talk about it.

My writing is a celebration of progress as I embark on the lifelong journey of recovering from the root causes of my addictions: internalized misogyny, homophobia, fatphobia, and ableism. Join me as I learn to unmask and let go of pathological people-pleasing.

More About Me

I am a highly-sensitive autistic queer kitchen witch. I live with my two (children) dogs, Teddy and Daisy, and thirty-seven houseplants just a few miles north of Detroit, Michigan. Somehow, while entangled in addiction, I managed to get degrees in both Culinary Arts and Sociology. When I’m not writing or at work, I enjoy gardening, baking, napping, sipping tea, long bike rides, and reading.

I can’t wait to meet you, hear your story, and build community. Let this be a space for authentic connection in a world that requires nonstop self-abandonment for survival.

Thank you so much for being here!
